Join this rare opportunity to study with one of the founding members of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, Jorma Kaukonen, for a 3-day guitar immersion class.

This intermediate level guitar workshop with Kaukonen helps develop our skills in chord inversions and shows us how to use songs as vehicles for learning licks, riffs, runs, and embellishments in various keys.

Participants should have facility with thumb independence and alternating thumb pattern accompanied by melodic lines; experience with songs that depart from pattern finger picking; and acquaintance with chord inversions in several positions up the neck.

Open by application only; Click here for a pdf of the application (pdf format; must have Adobe Acrobat Reader).$10 nonrefundable application fee. Call 877.944.2002. This 3-day workshop begins Sunday at 8 p.m. and ends Wednesday at noon.

Jorma Kaukonen has been the leader in finger-style guitar playing, particularly of American roots music, for more than four decades. A native of Washington D.C., Jorma started playing guitar—often with his friend Jack Casady—in high school. He helped found Jefferson Airplane and, later with Casady, formed Hot Tuna, which continues to pack venues with a robust tour schedule, even after 35 years. furpeaceranch.com
